Documents and pages
New, open, save, and close
- New creates a new single-page document and asks whether to save unsaved work.
- Open accepts
.gomindand supported import formats. Opening XMind creates a GoMind document from its root topic tree. - Save writes to the known path. Save As creates another
.gomindcopy. - Close closes the current document and returns to the start center or blank workspace.
- Recent files are available from the start center and file manager.
Multiple pages
Use the page strip or page manager to:
- add, rename, duplicate, copy, and paste pages;
- reorder pages by dragging;
- export a page; and
- delete a page when another page remains.
Page links can jump between pages. If a target is removed, GoMind reports that it no longer exists.
Autosave and recovery
GoMind maintains recovery data for unexpected exits. Open File → More → Recovery to inspect available backups. A recovery copy is separate from the normal .gomind save; review it before replacing the current document.
Drag and drop
When a file is dropped onto the canvas, an untouched initial canvas may open it directly. For a document that already contains work, choose Import, Save Current and Open New, or Cancel.
Safe document workflow
Save before importing, applying a large layout, or changing a document-wide theme. Keep periodic local .gomind copies for important work.
