Export a node or subtree as an image

Sometimes you do not need the whole mind map. You only want one branch as a picture: a project phase, a chapter of notes, or a single checklist. GoMind can export any node and its children as a PNG or JPG image.

When to use it

Export in the app

  1. Select the node you want to export on the canvas.
  2. Open File → Export and choose PNG or JPG.
  3. Choose Selected node or Selected node and descendants.
  4. Adjust the background, border, corners, and output size as needed.
  5. Wait for the preview, then save or copy the image.

If you export only the selected node, its children are left out. Choosing the subtree option includes the whole branch below that node.

Ask the AI assistant

If you have connected GoMind's local AI assistant, you can ask in plain language, for example:

The assistant uses the currently open canvas to create the image and returns the image content or its saved location. Before exporting, make sure the right node is selected and the current page is the one you want.

Plans and watermarks

PlusUnlimitedNo watermark
ProUnlimitedNo watermark

For manual exports, the free plan keeps the watermark as well; Plus and Pro can turn it off. If you exceed the free limit, narrow the export or upgrade your plan.

Formats and quality

Large subtrees and waiting time

The larger the subtree, the longer the image takes to render. For big branches:

If the result is blank or the size looks wrong, center the view, confirm the nodes are visible, and try again.

Privacy

Images are generated on your device. A picture leaves the canvas only when you save it, copy it, or ask the AI assistant to write it to a file. GoMind does not upload exported images automatically.
