Import and export
Import formats
Open File → Import. Depending on platform and build, GoMind can import:
| Format | Typical use |
|---|---|
.xmind | Import an XMind topic tree |
.mm / FreeMind | Import a FreeMind map |
.md, .markdown | Convert headings and lists to a hierarchy |
.yml, .yaml | Convert nested YAML data to nodes |
.opml | Import an outline |
.txt | Import plain text lines |
| Web URL | Fetch and analyze supported page content |
Use Import Content to Node to insert material below a selected node instead of replacing the current document. The import dialog also accepts pasted Markdown, YAML, or text. Save before a large import.
Export formats
Open File → Export.
- PNG: raster image with transparent, white, or theme background options.
- JPG: raster image with a solid background.
- SVG: scalable vector output for editing and lossless printing.
- PDF: document-oriented output for printing and sharing.
- Markdown: hierarchical text outline.
- OPML: standard outline interchange format.
Image export options
For PNG/JPG, choose the current page or selected node/subtree, border and corner styles, background, and output size:
- Standard (2x) for normal high-resolution output.
- Ultra HD (4x) for larger output when supported by the device.
The preview may start at a lower resolution and update. Wait until generation finishes before saving or copying. Mobile sharing uses a separate sheet and may limit very large maps; export a file first for oversized maps.
Troubleshooting exports
If an export is blank or too large, center the view, confirm nodes are visible, and export a selected subtree. Try Standard (2x) before Ultra HD (4x).
